RMS Lady Indians fall to Chamois

The Russellville Middle School volleyball team opened the season with a loss at Chamois March 17.

The Lady Indians lost the first set 25-17, won the second set 25-12, then lost the third set 25-11.

"We played a little nervous with this being our first game," Russellville Coach Shelly Korte said. "But we all learned what we need to work on to make us better."

The Lady Indians then lost to Belle March 18, 15-25, 26-24 and 26-28.

"We played much more aggressive this time," Korte said. "We had eight pass-set-hits, which is our goal each game. We competed with Belle in a tough three games."

Russellville's seventh grade match against Belle ended in a loss, 20-25 and 21-25.

"We played just two sets for our seveth grade match, because we only have one seventh grader, Kendra Baton," Korte said. "So we play our eighth graders along with her. We played a competitive game and the girls fought hard."
