Fire consumes rural Russellville house

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - Fire consumed an abandoned house in a rural area northwest of Russellville this morning.

The Russellville-Lohman Fire Protection District was dispatched around 4:36 a.m. to the blaze at 35441 Rockhouse Road. Firefighters from Moniteau County also assisted.

Firemen discovered the structure was fully involved in flame when they arrived at around 4:43 a.m. They reported about an hour later that the fire had caused the building to collapse.

Firefighters finished and cleared the scene around 6:50 a.m., but rubble is expected to continue to burn throughout the day.

The state fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the blaze.
