Annual Lions Club Track and Field Meet held in California

The annual Lions Club Track and Field Meet was held Friday, May 2, at the California High School track, where area youth in grades 4-6 had the opportunity to compete in various events throughout the day. Participating area schools were California, Tipton, Latham, Jamestown, Prairie Home, Bunceton, Clarksburg, High Point, St. Andrew, and Fulton Christian Academy. The top finishers in each event were awarded during the awards ceremony.

Tipton White won the team competition, followed by Tipton Red in second place, St. Andrew third, California #5 fourth, and California #3 fifth. Clarksburg won the Sportsmanship Award.

The top three finishers in the 50 Meter Dash, in each grade, are as follows: fourth grade boys - Calen Kruger, California, first; Carter Petree, Tipton, second; and Oliver Lock, Prairie Home, third; fourth grade girls - Karagan Koechner, St. Andrew, first; Rylee Hees, California, second; and Kenna Bixler, Tipton, third; fifth grade boys - Hayden Embry, Tipton, first; Blake Arnel, St. Andrew, second; and Cameron Whisler, Tipton, third; fifth grade girls - Jadelyn Woolery, Tipton, first; Lucia Vasquez, California, second; and Victoria Fowler, Tipton, third; sixth grade boys - Chris Cassil, California, first; Austin Pace, Tipton, second; and Darrin Mowrey, Latham, third; sixth grade girls - Amber Trachsel, California, first; Tyanna Busch, Tipton, second; and Ella Claas, St. Andrew, third.

The top three finishers in the 100 Meter Dash are as follows: fourth grade boys - Izac Currens, California, first; Enoch Dunnaway, California, second; and Zach Hargis, Jamestown, third; fourth grade girls - Rylee Hees, California, first; Karagan Koechner, St. Andrew, second; and Jazmeynn Sandidge, Latham, third; fifth grade boys - Luke Stewart, Prairie Home, first; Hayden Embry, Tipton, second; and Cole Higgins, Jamestown, third; fifth grade girls - Jadelyn Woolery, Tipton, first; Kourtney Kendrick, Prairie Home, second; and Kayanna Gaines, Fulton Christian Academy, third; sixth grade boys - Chris Cassil, California, first; Francisco Xiao, Tipton, second; and Spencer Messerli, California, third; sixth grade girls - Waverly Irey, Tipton, first; Kylie Wagner, Jamestown, second; and Ella Claas, St. Andrew, third.
