Indians defeat Bulldogs 21-1

The Russellville High School baseball team hosted Stover Friday, where the Indians captured a 21-1 win from the Bulldogs.

Tanner Morrow recorded the win with eight strikeouts.

Chase Smith led Russellville hits with two doubles, two singles and six RBI. Nick Haslag had a double, two singles and three RBI. Morrow had two singles and four RBI. Clayton Thompson had a double, a single and two RBI. Clayton Meyer had a double, a single and one RBI. Alex Thompson had a double and three RBI. Kaleb Libbert contributed two RBI.

Previously, Russellville hosted Eugene Thursday, where the Indians lost the conference game 6-2 to the Eagles.

Clayton Meyer recorded the loss with six strikeouts.

Smith led Russellville hits with a single and two RBI. Ryland Johnson contributed a double, and Haslag, Morrow and Clayton Thompson each had a single.

Russellville hosted Linn Wednesday, May 7, where the Indians captured a 7-5 win from the Wildcats.

Johnson recorded the win with three strikeouts.

Johnson led Russellville hits with three singles. Smith had two singles and two RBI. Haslag had a double and two RBI, and Morrow had a single and one RBI.

Russellville will play Father Tolton at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Class 2 District 8 Tournament at New Bloomfield High School. The championship game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 20.
