Vacation Watch Program implemented by City Police

The California Police Department is pleased to announce its new Vacation Watch program. This service is designed to help safeguard citizens' property and allow for a rapid response and owner notification in the event of a problem. Vacation Watch is available throughout the year to residents within the California city limits.

To request the service, a Vacation Watch form must be completed at the California Police Department during normal business hours. Police Chief Mike Ward advises that officers will check the residence at least once per shift during the requested time. In the event of an early return, residents should contact the Police Department on the non emergency phone number to discontinue the service.

While this program is designed to provide additional police presence during vacation periods, Chief Ward reminds residents that it is not meant to be a replacement for taking proper home security measures prior to an extended absence from home.
