Finke Theatre ribbon cutting set

The ribbon cutting for transfer of ownership of the Finke Theatre has been set for Saturday, Oct. 11, before the evening theater performance. The actual property transfer should be completed by the end of September. The requirements for the projects which Neighborhood Assistance Funds (NAP) are obtained is that California Progress, Inc. (CPI) must maintain ownership for five years. With that time being up in September, the CPI is making plans to turn ownership over to Friends of the Finke Theatre.

In other business, a training session by the Missouri Main Street Committee (MMSC) is being planned by Keith Winge at the historical society building May 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This is fundraising training and information session.

With the terms of several CPI board members set to end in 2014, the organization is searching for new members interested in serving on the board. Executive Secretary Vickie Schroeder will be leaving the position later this year. Susan Burger has been hired to take the position. Schroeder will stay on for several months to train Burger for the job.

The CPI officer printer has all but died. The board is looking into the best new printer to do the job.

The next regular board meeting is set for noon, June 19, at the library.
