California Elementary students raise over $6,000 for American Heart Association

"Jump Rope for the Heart teaches students to take care of their hearts while they experiences the joy of giving back to their community," according to physical education teacher Jill Hampton.

The jump rope skills the students learn and the experience of being part of a larger program all across the country will serve students for a lifetime.

This year, during the month of October, the students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade at the California Elementary raised $6,051.93 for the American Heart Association.

Forty-nine students became members of the Livesavers Club by raising $50 or more for the American Heart Association.

Members include Casandra Gallegos, Marissa Perez, Mason Barrett, Elly Clause, Kaylee Menhennet, Ryan Bleich, Preston Miller, Brylie Smith, Garrett Ferguson, Jassiah Smith, Kamryn Henggeler, Haley Roberts, Zoie Moore, Ashlyn Johnson, Braydon Fields, Kelsey Wadley, Alexis Aguado, Quynten Cary, Eve McGill, Morgan Campbell, Vanessa Hernandez, Eleanor Martin, Maryah Hoback, Lucas Bleich, Allison Houk, Ambelie Traver, Reagon Cain, Ayden Howard, Kierstyn Lawson, Byron Brown, Abbigail Stuedle, Kaysen White, Adler Koestner, Hunter Hall, Hadley Milligan, Jalyn Coleman, Nikaylee Hays, Emily Burger, Kaliyah Ash, Emilia Thomas, Caleb Howard, Dawson Maness, Lily Hogan, Ella Burger, Sarah Inglish, Delayna Bell, Hudler Cain, Ruthie Shoeneberg and Matthew Newcomb.
