MCMC gets grant from MFA Oil Foundation

The MFA Oil Foundation awarded a $1,900 grant to the Moniteau Christian Ministries Center, Inc. (MCMC) to be applied towards the cost of purchasing a dolly/cart, eyewash station, fire extinguishers and a scale. The check was presented Thursday, Nov. 13, at the MFA Oil and Propane office at 1105 W. Buchanan St., California.

MFA Oil Foundation has awarded more then $1 million in grants since established in 1998. It is a program that allows, according to MFA Oil President and CEO, the company "to give support back to the rural communities that are the foundation of our business. The grants the foundation awards help support many youth programs and organizations active in addressing and solving community problems and improving the quality of life."

Founded in 1929, the farmer-owned cooperative has more than 40,000 members. One of the top 10 propane companies in the United States, it supplies fuels, lubricants and propane to customers in Missouri and 12 other states. The company, through subsidiaries, operates Break Time convenience stores in Missouri and Arkansas, Jiffy Lube franchises in Central Missouri and Big O Tire franchises in Central Missouri and Arkansas.
