Russellville School board approves child care program for January

A child care program before and after school will begin in January 2015 for the Russellville Schools.

The board of education has discussed the possibility this fall and made the decision at its recent meeting.

A survey of parents indicated a need for the program. More information will be be sent home to elementary and middle school parents next month.

Applications will be accepted for the part-time Child Care Program Director position, which will be paid $17-per-hour.

The district also need substitute teachers and bus drivers.

In January, the district will begin e-mailing its monthly newsletter. Those currently in the student information system will automatically receive an electronic copy. Others who would like to receive the monthly newsletter by e-mail, should fill out the form at www.cole.k12.mo.us.

A link to the newsletter also will be put on the school Facebook page and the district website.

Those who want to receive the newsletter by mail should call 782-3534 and provide a mailing address.

The board also approved the purchase of new bleachers to replace the middle school gymnasium bleachers, which are more than 50 years old and repair parts no longer are available. Bids are due Dec. 16.

A covered entrance at the elementary building and improvements to the west entrance near the cafeteria also were approved.
