CHS Royalty crowned Friday night

The 2014 California High School Homecoming royalty were crowned in advance of the Pintos win Friday, Oct. 3, over the Blair Oaks Falcons.

Queen Morgan Henley and King Allan Burger were joined by Princess Halle Oliver and Prince Dylan Ratcliff.

Henley, daughter of Rodney and Janet Henley, sports activities include track two years, basketball three years, and volleyball four years. Her leadership roles include senior class vice president, DECA president, National Honor Society (NHS) vice president, Spanish Club vice president. She is a member of Art Club, Tri-M Honor Society, Student Council and has been in Sounds of Joy for four years. She is a lifeguard at the California City Pool and attends the Annunciation Catholic Church.

Burger, son of Philip and Susan Burger, sports activities include track, basketball and football. His leadership roles include NHS president, FFA treasurer and attending the American Legion's Boys State. He is in band, Sounds of Joy, Spanish Club and Tri-M. He is a youth member at the United Church of Christ and is in the Boy Scouts California Troop 120.

Henley and Burger were crowned by Billie Bolin, 1964 Homecoming queen, and Alex Lewis, 2013 Homecoming King. Bolin lives in the Kansas City area with her husband Dean. And Lewis, son of Russ Lewis and Michelle Sontag, attends Arkansas State University.

Oliver, daughter of Gary and Jana Oliver, sports activities include cross country and basketball. Her leadership roles include freshmen class president. She is involved with concert choir, FFA, speech team, and Spanish Club. Oliver is a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jefferson City and attends Youth Group at the First Baptist Church in California. And she is a member of the Jefferson City Suzuki Violin Club.

Ratcliff is the son of Bryan and Robin Ratcliff. His activities include football and FFA. He is an active participant in the Cali Mo Student Section. And he is a member of the United Church of Christ.

Oliver and Ratcliff were crowned by 2013 Homecoming Princess Emily Thibon and Prince Matt Oerly. Thibon is the daughter of Steve and Eve Thibon and Oerly is the son of Mark and Marcy Oerly.

Other queen candidates were Alysha Mettle and Preston Peters.

Mettle, daughter of Rick and Tricia Mettle, is a cheerleader and FCCLA president. She is involved in concert choir, National Honor Society, DECA, FBLA and Tri-M. She is a crew member at Sonic and attends the First Baptist Church.

Peters, daughter of Chris and Alison Peters, is president of the Spanish Club and the Art Club. She is involved in Dance Squad, NHS, FFA and Science Club. She is a youth member at the United Church of Christ and attended the American Legion Auxiliary's Girls State.

Other king candidates were Ramiro Garcia and Garrett Imhoff.

Ramiro is the son of Javier Garcia and Imelda Aguilar. His activities include football and track and NHS. He attends First Baptist Church, where he sings for the worship band.

Imhoff is the son of Terry and Rhonda Imhoff. His activities include football four years, swim team two years, NHS, Tri-M Honor Society, FFA and Sounds of Joy. He attends St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Other Homecoming princess candidates were Cassie Dearixon and Lauren Ziehmer.

A sophomore, Dearixon is the daughter of David and Norma Dearixon. Her activities include volleyball, basketball, Drama Club, FBLA, student council and sophomore class treasurer. She is a member of the Solid Rock Church in Jefferson City and does Crossfit at Crossfit Unstoppable in Jefferson City.

A junior, Ziehmer is the daughter of Bob and Beth Ziehmer. Her activities include junior class vice president, class treasurer her sophomore year, Art Club treasurer two years and representative one year. She also is in Spanish Club, Drama Club, FCCLA, and choir two years. Ziehmer has been a cheerleader two years. She is a First Baptist Church Youth Group member and volunteers in the nursery. She is a National Wild Turkey Federation and Conservation Federation of Missouri Life member. Lauren is also involved in the MOD Squad with Amy Knollmeyer Photography.

Other Homecoming prince candidates were Jacob Wolken and Jackson Trachsel.

Our freshmen homecoming prince candidate is Jacob

A freshman, Wolken is the son of Ken and Paula Wolken. His activities include football, baseball, basketball and FFA.

A sophomore, Trachsel is the son of John and Jan Trachsel. His activities include football, basketball, baseball, FFA and the Cali Mo Student Section. He works at Fletcher Farms and is a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.
