Labor Day sees 22nd High Point Homecoming event

High Point residents and visitors celebrated Labor Day weekend with the 22nd annual Homecoming on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 30 and 31. The event, sponsored by High Point Community Renewal Association, began with a walk/run at 7:30 a.m, the baby show at 10 a.m. and parade at 11 a.m.

Following the parade, there was an art show, quilt show, stage entertainment featuring Helen Russell & Company and dinner. Other events include an antique tractor display, kids bicycle rodeo, white elephant auction, bingo, craft show and face painting and balloon animals.

On Sunday, Aug. 31, there was a Community Worship Service at High Point School. The speaker was Pastor Justin Houston, Mount Moriah Baptist Church. The Nightlight Youth Kickball Tournament began in the afternoon.
