JV Pintos defeat Indians 58-0

The California High School JV football team hosted Warsaw Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Riley Field, where the Pintos defeated the Wildcats 58-0.

"Our JV guys played really well for their first game of the season," California Coach Rich Matzes said.

Scoring for the Pintos included the following: Dylan Kramel scored on a 10-yard touchdown run, and scored on a two-point play. Kramel also threw a 30-yard TD pass to Jackson Trachsel. Dylan Ratcliff rushed for a 25-yard TD. Brent Alber had two punt returns for TDs, one for 50 yards, and one for 42.

Gunner Baquet had a 70-yard TD on a kickoff return, and a rushing TD for 22 yards. Jacob Wolken had a 10-yard TD run. Kale McAdams tackled a Warsaw punt in the end zone for a safety, and Jose Magana kicked six extra points.

California hosted Versailles Monday night at Riley Field, where the JV Pintos, after leading 20-7 at the half, went on to defeat the Tigers 49-7.

The Tigers' only score of the night was a TD from a blocked punt.

California's scoring included the following: Ratcliff scored three TD's; one for 38 yards, one for six, and one for eight yards. Baquet returned a punt 60 yards for a TD, and after three straight runs he scored a 10-yard TD. Kramel threw a pass to Kale McAdams to score a two-point conversion, and Kramel also ran in a two-point play. Magana successfully kicked three extra points. Wolken threw a 10-yard TD pass to Liam Glenn, and Kyle Hofstetter scored a TD on a 35-yard run.

The JV Pintos will play at Eldon at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15.
