Friday, Sept. 12, the High Point R-III School opened its doors to the grandparents of its students. A very large number was in attendance. Head cook Amanda Barbour and assistant Pat Duncan were on hand early to prepare biscuits, gravy and sausage patties to meet the needs of the hungry group.

Students were very proud to have their grandparents attend and eat the first meal of the day with them. Many beamed from ear to ear as did the grandparents.

High Point Superintendent Stan Elliott welcomed the guests at 8 a.m. and asked that they begin going through the serving line. The children excitedly grabbed grandparents hands and showed them the route to the line for food. Following breakfast Elliott shared his appreciation for all who attended and the influence they provide to their grandchildren and the school. The breakfast concluded with all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Grandparents were invited to stop by student's classrooms.
