The California fifth grade musical "Harmony High" was presented Thursday, March 26, at the CHS auditorium, directed by Stacy Friedrich.

The story begins on the first day of school. New students Michael, Michele and Junie find their new school, Harmony High, to be a little unusual in that everyone sings. First they sing about having to go to class, then learn about the school in song. They find out about learning by song by the teachers, since all of the teachers sing their lessons. Jim the Gym teacher sings the classwork, and rather than being called to lunch by a bell, the cooks sing.

Of course there is always in-school detention, with the students sent there by a cheery principal. In this school, even the students in detention sing, with a song and dance routine. Lab class is next, with the lab teacher, Dr. Mendeleyev (Rylee Hees), leading the students in a rock performance for which the "Lab Rat Rock" is named after.

The students begin the end of the school day with "Life Is a Beautiful Song" with solos by the Ancient History Teacher (Lacey Lucus), Geography Teacher (Macee Johnson), Math Teacher (Emma Borts), Jim the Gym Teacher (Preston Miller) and Lab Teacher Dr. Mendeleyev (Rylee Hees). With the urging of the cast on stage, the audience joins in for this song. As the cast gives a reprise of the beginning song, the Janitor (Garret Ferguson) sweeps the floor.

The songs presented included "Gotta Get to Class," "Harmony High" with Isabella Gano singing solo, "Learn It With a Song", "Gym Class" with a solo by Mikayla Diehls, "Cooks of the Cafeteria", "The In-School Detention Blues", "The Lab Rat Rock" featuring soloist Rylee Hees, "Life Is a Beautiful Song" with solos by Lacey Lucas, Macee Johnson, Emma Borts, Preston Miller and Rylee Hees.
