CHS band receives gift from Burger Foundation

Through the generosity of the E.M. Burger Foundation, a tuba, baritone saxophone, marimba and two marching quint toms have been purchased for the California High School Band. Equipment was also purchased to include 12 marching drum harnesses, five marching bass drum stands and a marimba carriage.

At the band concert on March 23, Dustijn Hollon, Director of Bands, thanked the foundation and announced foundation money would also be used to purchase the rest of the all new drum line equipment and the older equipment would be given to the Middle School Band.

Hollon is a native of Milan and is completing his second year at the high school. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 2006 with a Masters in Music Education/Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Before coming to California Hollan was Director of Bands in Novinger School District and Meadville School District.
