The girls' 4x400-yard relay team finished seventh and Katie Imhoff finished eighth in the 1600-meter run.

A total of 54 high schools participated in the meet.

On Friday, California hosted the Tri County Relays, and again, had an impressive outing. The girls won eight events and the boys placed first 10 times.

"The kids came out and preformed well," said Lindquist. "We kind of did it as a team event so we can get young kids in and get a lot of people running."

Imhoff won the 1,600-meter and the 3,200-meter runs and Allison, again, won the pole vault. Other first-place finishers are Pickering in shot put, Cameron Meyer in discus throw, Ellie Wirts in the 100-meter dash and Jasmine Wells in the 300-meter hurdles.

In boys action, Borghardt had himself a day. He placed first in the 200-meter dash, triple jump and long jump. He also finished second in the 100-meter dash. Ethan Hodges won the 800-meter run and Dylan Norton finished first in the 300-meter hurdles and was apart of the first-place 4x400 relay team. Andrew Norton, Benigno Corona and Ethan Hodges were also part of that team.

The 4x200 relay team of Hayden Collier, Philip Strobel, Toby Dalbey and Aaron Pace also won first.

In other field events, Burger and Squires won pole vault and shot put.

"We have seen a ton of growth already this season and if our kids continue to push themselves and do the little things they have the ability to put together a very special season," said Lindquist.
