Golf: California performs well at Russellville Invitational

RUSSELLVILLE - At the Russellville Invitational, California placed second and host Russellville finished fifth at Redfield Golf Club, a par 72 course, last Wednesday in a field of eight area high schools.

Eugene's Carson Doerhoff earned medalist honors, shooting a 74 (38 front nine, 36 back nine). California's Dylan Kramel shot an 82 (40, 42), good enough for third overall, and Liam Schatzer carded an 86 (43, 43) for fifth overall.

As a team, the Pintos finished with a team total of 355, three behind first-place finisher, Fatima.

For the rest of the California team, Kale McAdams finished with a 93 (46, 47), Damon Shaw a 94 (49, 44) and Luke Freeman shot a 99 (48, 51).

Russellville scored a team total of 398, tying Stover. Coy Bond was the leader of the group with an 88 (43, 44), sixth overall. Austin Garrison shot a 98 (50, 48), Cody Willingham had a 100 (46, 54), Dylan Henderson a 112 (54, 58) and David Shelden 113 (51, 62).
