Moniteau County Health Center Board holds March meeting

The Moniteau County Health Center Board of trustees meeting was held March 16, in the health center meeting room. Present were Don Wyss, Eileen Crawford, Pam Monroe, Dr. James Canter, Norma Blankenship and Administrator Andrea Kincaid.

Dr. Canter, President, called the meeting to order. Minutes from the previous board meeting and receipts and disbursements from February were reviewed and accepted.

In new business, the sports physical schedule and $15 donation was approved.

Members reviewed lawn care bids received for the 2015 season and accepted the lowest bid from Harris Lawn Care Services, LLC.

Members received a proposal extension from Central Bank. Wyss made the motion to accept the three year renewal option (.55 percent fixed on balances held at Central Bank). Crawford seconded the motion and all members voted to accept the motion.

In the administrator's report, it was reported that a Certificate of Deposit will mature on March 19. Monroe made the motion to accept the highest APY rate received and Blankenship seconded the motion. All members voted to accept the motion.

It was reported that the health center plans to participate in the Summer Food Service Program by providing inspections.

The Moniteau County Health Center has been working with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services in response to the recent outbreak of H5N2 virus found in some poultry.

Three board members retiring, Eileen Crawford - 18 years, Pam Monroe - 12 years and Norma Blankenship - 10 years, were acknowledged and thanked.

Board members received the health center's February activity report.

The meeting was adjourned.

Following the meeting, a yearly in-service was held with board members and employees to review activities provided from 2014. Overall, a total of 12,089 contacts with the community were made by nursing, clerical, and environmental staff through programs offered by the center. A three-year comparison graph was provided on various related activities performed and fluctuations in certain programs were noted based on demand for those services.

Board member, Dr. Canter, visited the health center two times during the month of February. The next scheduled trustees meeting will be held Monday, April 20, at 6 p.m., in the health center meeting room at 401 S. Francis St., California.
