Chamber of Commerce involved in activities and projects

The board heard the minutes from the previous meeting, the treasurer's report and the secretary's report and approved all as presented.

The Board discussed technology contracts expiring in May.

Due to the continued problems with spam in the Chamber email account the Board voted to accept the bid from Huber and Associates to maintain the account. It was also decided to continue the contract with Trackside Marketing for upkeep of the web site.

Jason Witt, Chamber President, announced the Board's Executive Committee will meet to finalize the job description and application process for replacing the executive secretary. Anyone interested in this position can contact Witt for more information.

Cale Brown, Commerce Bank, reported that many had assisted with the annual Easter Egg Hunt held March 28. Approximately one and a half hours was spent distributing the eggs for the hunt. The children present on the cold, snowy afternoon found them all in approximately three minutes. Special appreciation was expressed to the Ratcliff family for the assistance of stuffing eggs and being the bunny.

The Chamber's Annual Golf Tournament is slated for June 10. Hole sponsors and donations are being sought for the event. Teams are needed to participate in the event. To sign up contact Dwight Sanders, Shelly Hampton, Jenny Brown or Brad Baer.

Plans for the Ozark Ham and Turkey Festival scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, are well under way. Baer reported the committee meets the first Monday night of the month to work on details for the festival. He noted the t-shirt bid was awarded to Promark and the ornament bid to B-W Graphics. The committee is still seeking bids for trophies/plaques. This year will be the 25th year for the festival. The next Ozark Ham and Turkey meeting will be Monday, May 4, at 5:30 p.m., in the city hall meeting room.

The scholarship committee will be reviewing the applications turned in to the high school guidance counselor. The scholarships will be awarded to the selected seniors in May at the awards presentation.

Witt shared the Chamber is continuing to work closely with the City Council on a plan for the "Welcome to California" sign. Decisions should be made soon on what to do next to move forward with the sign.

The next Board meeting will be held May 14, at 8 a.m., in the City Hall meeting room.
