Finke Theatre to open 2015/16 season Sept. 12

The Finke Theatre opens its 2015/2016 season Saturday, Sept. 12, with the Kapital Kicks. When the doors reopened in 2009, The Kapital Kicks were the very first performers on the stage. They are a 16-piece dance orchestra that play favorite big band selections.

Rick Thomas will amaze everyone with his magic on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. Thomas has been described as "Illusions to astound the disbelieving!" He brings an invigorating performance packed with grand illusion and plenty of audience participation.

The Finke Players will perform on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. They have thrilled audience for several years .

Lucky Old Sons - Christmas Special will begin the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. Lucky Old Sons share upbeat 50's Christmas show that's got a rocking blues twist.

Starting off 2016 on Jan. 16, at 7 p.m., will be the Homestead Pickers Blue Grass Band. They have taken their show of music, comedy and storytelling from Branson to Ireland and back to California.

On Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. Bummer the Drummer and the KC Street Band will be at the Finke playing familiar tunes. Lots of drums and percussion, sax, trumpet, flugelhorn, keyboards, guitars, electric bass, Bummer's superb three-octave vocal range and his "in the pocket" drumming is sure to thrill those in attendance.

In March "Bach to the Future - the Bach that Rocks" will be sharing rock out classical and jazz arrangements fused with their fresh interpretation and cutting edge instruments. They are slated for Saturday, March 19, at 7 p.m.

Friday, April 22, at 7 p.m. the Baby Boomer Comedy Show will bring many laughs to the Finke. Kent Radar and Jan McInnis will deliver hilarious family-friendly comedy about everyday life topics.

In May the Bluegrass Martins will be back on the marque at the Finke. If you haven't seen this band perform lately, the younger children have all grown up and the family has continued playing bluegrass gospel all over the country. They will perform Saturday, May 14, at 7 p.m.

The finale performance will be the annual community play June 11-12. This play always brings laughter-filled surprises by the uninhibited neighbors on the Finke stage.

It is easy to see that the 2015/2016 season is full of great talent. The Finke's mission is to bring the best entertainment possible to California.
