Boy Scout units from the Great Rivers Council's Five Rivers District will be celebrating Scout Month during February.

District units, which are in Cole, Gasconade, Maries, Moniteau and Osage counties, will recognize the 105th anniversary of scouting in the United States.

Many units held special ceremonies during Scout Sunday, which was Feb. 8, to present religious awards to scouts and their leaders.

Units also will be doing various projects for their local sponsoring organizations to thank them for their support.

Cub Scouts are for boys seven to 10-years-old or if they are in the 1st through 5th grades. Boys Scouts are for young men 11-17 years old. Venture Crews and Explorer Posts are co-ed groups for young people 14-20 years old. Adult volunteers are also welcome to join Scouting.

Contact a local unit for more information.
