This year's Blue & Gold Banquet was held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the United Church of Christ. The evening began with a delicious meal prepared by Gump Catering that was served by Cub Scout leaders and much enjoyed by the 32 Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, friends and family in attendance. As the meal drew to a close, magician Gerry Tritz amazed the group with an array of magical tricks and illusions. Several Scouts served as magician's assistants throughout the show with the exception of a few dangerous tricks including the fiery outdoor grand finale! After enthusiastic applause, the attendees returned indoors for a more solemn part of the program.

Webelos 2 Cub Scout, Matthew J. Abernathy, was asked to come forward with his parents as Pack 120 Cubmaster Brad Friedmeyer spoke about the dedication of the both the Scout and his family to make it to this moment. Special recognition was given to Webelos 2 Den Leaders Matthew S. Abernathy and Rose Blair for their selfless service to the Pack and to the entire Webelos group in particular. Both Matt and Rose took time to speak about the particular skills and gifts that Matthew brought to Pack 120, his family, school, and community. Kyle Freiner, member of Boy Scout Troop 120 then prepared Matthew for the official Crossover Ceremony by removing all traces of Cub Scout achievements from the young man's uniform. As each item making up the Boy Scout Law was read aloud, the Crossover Bridge was completed and Matthew officially crossed over. Eric Schroeter, Scoutmaster of Troop 120 then welcomed Matthew as the newest member of Boy Scout Troop 120. After closing remarks, the Banquet concluded with many congratulations and pictures.
