Volunteers an asset at Moniteau Christian Ministries Center

In 2014, the Cargill Cares Food Pantry distributed 289,774 pounds of food. This total includes 46,885 pounds distributed from the Mobile Food Pantry prior to Cargill Cares opening in April, 2014. The Cargill Cares Food Pantry logged 5,064 volunteer hours in nine months of operation. The MCMC Board of Directors and Cargill Cares Food Pantry Managers wish to express heartfelt appreciaton to all the volunteers. Without the support of the volunteers, it would not be able to prepackage Buddy Packs, prepare food items for distribution days, procure supplemental food items, enroll and support clients, or maintain this vital community resource.

In January 299 households were served consisting of 815 individuals. Appreciation is expressed to the California High School National Honors Society, California First Baptist Church, St. Paul's Sunday School Class and Flag Spring Baptist Church for their support.

The Cargill Cares Food Pantry recently installed fire extinguishers, fire alarms, and an emergency eye-wash station purchased from funding by the MFA Oil Foundation.

These items help ensure the safety of volunteers and are greatly appreciated.

Pantry hours are now posted on Cargill Cares Food Pantry Facebook page. Anyone in need of pantry assistance may call 573-796-6262 for additional information.
