Moniteau County 911 board hears concerns of fire districts

Tipton Fire Chief Aaron Fassler presented concerns to the Moniteau County 911 Emergency Dispatch Center Board of Directors at the Feb. 19 meeting about paging for medical calls outside its district and would like to restructure the use of the department's resources. Fortuna Fire Chief Richard Lawson and Chris Clifford of the California Rural Fire Protection District were present. Plans are to attend a future fire chief's meeting and consider the matter.

The board approved the Jan. 11, 2015, minutes and the treasurer's report.

Administrator Corey Sullivan reported that he is having several electric companies evaluate that the needs of the dispatch center are still in good order and is checking for further upgrades.

He has also contacted a few HVAC companies to give options on building zoning or what can be done to have more efficient use of the current system for cooling the equipment room.

He is also seeking information about chairs for the dispatch center, since there are several that may need repairs.

According to the treasurer's report, sales tax received was $60,661.39. The MMDA account balance as of Feb. 17 was $510,957.17. The CD balance was about $187,700 as of Jan. 31. The total payroll was: Jan. 29 - $8,784.24; Feb. 2 - $8,363.87. Overall payroll taxes were $7,151.28. Total accounts payable approved at the meeting amounted to $19,791.91.

The next monthly meeting is 6 p.m. March 12 at the 911 Center.
