Knipp named MASWCD state educator of the year

Carla Knipp was named the Missouri Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts 2014 State Educator of the Year.

Carla Knipp was named the Missouri Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts 2014 State Educator of the Year and was recognized during the MASWCD Annual Conference held at Tan-Tar-A Resort on Dec. 11, 2014.

Knipp was nominated by the Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District after being selected as the 2013 Moniteau County Educator of the Year by the organization.

Knipp has been at St. Andrew's School for 13 years. During this time she has been music teacher, eighth grade homeroom teacher and teaches science to the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. In addition she stepped up as interim principal when needed.

She earned a bachelor of arts in Chemistry in 1988 and received her Master's in Education in 2010. She is very involved in St Andrew's church and the community. Carla and husband Dale, and daughters Rosalee, Clara and Elizabeth, live south of Tipton.
