Fortunately the weather was nice and the sun was shining so St. Paul's Lutheran Church was able to open their doors to host a blood drive Thursday, Jan. 22.

The fellowship hall was sectioned off with partitions and lounge chairs were arranged in a circle to enable the Red Cross techs to work with several donors at the same time.

After donating individuals were encouraged to have a snack of cookies or crackers and a drink provided by the church.

Many area residents took the Red Cross challenge for "The need is constant, the gratification is instant, thanks for giving blood."

Donors shared they donate as often as they are allowed to because they never know when they or someone they know might need blood.
