Abby Braby advances to Finals in MLB Pitch, Hit & Run

Abby Braby, 10, of California will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to compete in the National Finals at the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run presented by Scotts on Monday, July 13. Braby is one of three participants in the 9-10 girls age division and she'll be representing the St. Louis Cardinals.

Finishing in first in the local, district and state level, Braby was selected in the top-three in the country to compete during the MLB All-Star festivities at Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds. The competition is scheduled for before the 2015 Gillette Home run Derby at 2 p.m. After, she'll have the opportunity to shag fly balls in the outfield during the derby.

Beginning in March, approximately 625,000 kids from across North America participated in the program.

Eric Hosmer of the Kansas City Royals is a MLB Pitch, Hit & Run alumnus, reaching the National Finals in 1998 at the All-Star Game in Denver. He was the first national finalist to reach the major leagues.
