It was a week of "exploring art" for young people in Proctor Park last week, July 20-24. The sessions, held in Rohrbach Pavilion, were presented by the City of California Parks and Recreation. Students entered in the program received a t-shirt and art supply.
The artist youngsters in first through third grade joined the art camp in an art safari called "Wild About Art." They explored the "wonderful world of wild animals" as they created and let their imaginations run wild in the two-hour morning sessions.
The older artists in fourth through seventh grade were "thinking green" as they participated in the art camp "Going Green" afternoon sessions. These older artistic young people used everyday objects to make art as well as learning to "think outside the box" and learn to re-purpose disposable objects making them a part of their own masterpieces.
Going Green was for artists in fourth through seventh grades who were invited to join the camp as "we think green." Artists used everyday objects to make art as well as "think outside the box" and learn to re-purpose disposable objects making them a part of their own masterpieces.
Art Camp Coordinator Melissa Gerhart was assisted by Spenser, Sydney and Ross Deeken in conducting the sessions.
