Hunter education to be held at California Shooters Club

A Hunter Education Skills session will be held on June 27, at the California Shooters Club, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. In order to attend the session, students must sign up online and have completed the Knowledge (classroom) requirement. The classroom requirement can be completed in one of two ways: online study completion or completing the review section in the study-guide. For more information about Missouri Hunter Education, or to sign up for the online course, please go to mdc.mo.gov or http://www.hunter-ed.com/missouri/. The study guide may be ordered online at the website above or picked up from any MDC office.

Students 11 years and older may participate in the Skills Session. After signing up online, please bring proof of age to the course in the form of birth certificate or photo ID. Likewise, students must bring proof of completing the Knowledge requirement, either a completed study guide or an online session certificate.

Hunters who were born on or after Jan. 1, 1967, and are 16 or older must successfully complete an approved hunter-education course to qualify to buy firearms hunting permits. Some hunters who otherwise would not need hunter education must be certified if they want to mentor novice hunters.

Space for the session is limited, so please sign up soon. For additional information call Nathaniel Hodges at 573-864-9814.
