Jehovah's Witnesses to hold conventions

Jehovah's Witnesses will hold two three-day conventions in July. Both will be at the St. Charles Family Arena.

Starting the first weekend in June, and continuing for the next four weeks, Jehovah's Witnesses will extend personal invitations to everyone from eastern Missouri and southern Illinois to attend either of the conventions. The first three-day event will begin Friday, July 3, at 9:20 a.m. The second, also three days, will begin Friday, July 10, at 9:20 a.m.

The theme of this year's program is "Imitate Jesus!" Everyone is invited to attend. Locally, all of the area's 104 congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses will help distribute printed invitations to the convention. There is no admission fee. Conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations.

An estimated 13,000 will come to the St. Charles Family Arena for these Bible-based programs. Jehovah's Witnesses in the United States are organizing 453 conventions-in 29 languages-in 124 cities. Worldwide, there are over 8,000,000 Witnesses in more than 115,000 congregations.
