Local girls win in Warrensburg pageant

Amanda Volkart and Mariah LaRue represented Moniteau County by competing in the Kansas / Missouri Miss Amazing Pageant on Feb. 28, in Warrensburg.

The Miss Amazing Pageant is a nationwide pageant that provides an opportunity for girls and young women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem. The competition involved an interview and evening gown presentation. In the Senior Miss division, Amanda Volkart took the Runner-up position. In the Junior Miss division, Mariah LaRue took the title of Queen.

The 2015 National Miss Amazing Pageant will be staged in Los Angeles in July.

Accompanying the ladies to the competition were Chris Jungmeyer, Savannah Sommers, and Jane Blank, staff members of the Moniteau Co. Senate Bill 40 Board staff.
