William Woods University women's basketball player Kennedy Volkart has collected her first American Midwest Conference (AMC) Player of the Week award this year, the AMC office recently announced.
Volkart, a Russellville native, was dominant on the week in wins over (RV) Columbia College and Missouri Baptist, as the sophomore averaged 12 points, 12.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the free throw line.
Her best outing came against the Cougars, where she totaled 16 points, while grabbing down a career-high 15 rebounds and adding five blocked shots.
On the season, Volkart is averaging 9.8 points, while shooting 41.2 percent from the floor and currently leads the team in rebounds (186) and blocked shots (29).
