Moniteau County SWCD to hold 39th banquet and awards dinner

Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its 39th Annual Appreciation and Awards Banquet on March 26. The banquet will be held at United Church of Christ, California, at 6 p.m. Among the events for the evening the SWCD will be honoring the 2014 Cooperator of the Year: Dale and Margaret Bilyeu, California. Carla Knipp of St Andrew's School will be honored for being chosen 2014 MASWCD State Educator of the Year and Adam Bieri will be awarded the 2014 Educator of the Year Award. Carl Allee and Rodney Fulks, supervisors retiring from the board, will be honored for the years of service to the District.

Poster Contest winners will be announced and awarded their prizes with the Overall Poster winner of fifth and sixth grade being announced.

An election of Area III and Area IV Supervisors will be going on all day with ballots at Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District's office, 410 W Buchanan St. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and again at the annual meeting at the United Church of Christ from 4 to 7 p.m. Nominees in Area III including Pilot Grove, Burris Fork, and Harrison Townships are Tom Harris and Ronnie Morrow. Nominees in Area IV including Willow Fork and Moreau Townships are Wayne Hentges and Larry Petree. All Moniteau County landowners with a FSA Farm number are eligible to vote. These terms are for four years and no wage is earned.

Moniteau County has a lot to be proud of and this is just a way for the SWCD to recognize all the hard work done by our landowners and schools.
