One of the first items on the list after deciding to start a new business is to find a suitable location, then making changes to send the appropriate message for the future customer.

That is the formula followed for the new RE/MAX Property Solutions business recently opened in California by Shane and Shawna Dunnaway and Ron and Angie Rowles.

Wanting a high traffic location, the owners of the business found an office location at 701 West Buchanan Street (Business 50 West) which appeared to be a prime location. Even though the available space, Suite C, is at the rear of the building, the entrance is on the side adjacent to Cooper Street, with adequate parking close by. That, plus the signage possibilities on the highway side of the building, made it an ideal location.

The office itself required more work to convert it from its previous role as a sign business. The addition of a conference room, a cabinet with sink, and new carpeting brings out a spacious, relaxed area for a business setting.

The new Shaw carpeting, installed by Dutcher Paints, California, is a durable commercial style, called On Broadway, in a color called 42nd Street. It goes well with the dark-tinted khaki paint. The whole look is set off by the trim. According to Dunnaway, most of the trim was already in place from the previous tenants, requiring only some additional trim work where the conference room was added and some other work done. The color of the stain of the original was matched by Darryl Dutcher in his shop and applied to the new wood.

Add in work stations for Shane Dunnaway and Heather Borghardt, and the office is ready to conduct business. The California RE/MAX office opened for business about the first of the year. For more information, telephone 573-796-2005 or on the web, see www.midmoproperty.com.
