Ramona Hader was honored Friday, May 1, by being named to the Moniteau County Democratic Club Hall of Fame. The award was presented by Gail Hughes at the Truman Days Dinner held at Centennial Hall at the fairgrounds.

She was presented the honor as a result of her constant effort to assist the party by volunteering for tasks which promote the party, knocked on doors, manned the phones, helped operate the party headquarters in 2012, served as an officer in the club, served on many committees and "in general, taken on any task assigned."

Speakers were Jim White, a candidate for Congress from the 4th District, and former Gov. Roger Wilson.

White is a lifelong resident of Missouri, who grew up in the Kansas City area. A Navy veteran, White received a bachelor's degree in Political Science from University of Missouri - Kansas City, and a masters degree in Government from Claremont University, Claremont, Okla. He worked in the investment business from 1975 until he retired in 2010. He and wife Rowena have been married for more than 50 years and have four grown children and 11 grandchildren.

Gov. Roger Wilson was the 52nd Governor of Missouri. He started as Boone County Collector and was elected to the State Senate in 1979. He was elected Lt. Governor in 1993, becoming Governor in 2000 after the tragic death of Gov. Mel Carnahan, serving out the remainder of the term ending in 2001. He became chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party in August 2014.

An auction was conducted by Charlie Roll, assisted by Stuart Inglish.

Van Adams gave the welcome, introductions and recognition of guests at the meeting. Dinner music was provided by Phil Lewis.
