Golf season comes to an end

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - California's Kade McAdams and Dylan Kramel advanced to Sectionals after placing in the top-15 - of the players not on the top-two teams - in last week's Districts Tournament in Eugene, but failed to move on to the State Tournament Monday at Kirksville Country Club.

McAdams led the two Pintos with a 94 and Kramel carded a 116 to conclude California's season. McAdams, who shot an 85 at last week's Districts, missed the opportunity to play in the State Tournament by five strokes.

A score of a 92 earned the golfers a chance in Sectionals, but the magic number to advance to State was an 89, shot by Logan Taylor of South Callaway and Macon's Nate Hilker.

Southern Boone and Blair Oaks, the second and first place finishers at Districts, finished first and second with scores of a 343 and 347, respectively. Walker Kesterson led Southern Boone with a 75 to earn medalist honors.
