High Point R-III students presented "Summer's Coming" Thursday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m. for friends and family gathered in the gym.
The musical was directed by High Point music teacher Sonda Brown.
The evening began with Middle School Band playing "America" followed by the Blue Jay Band playing "The Hey Song" and "Let's Go Blue Jays."
The kindergarten and first grade classes sang "Mickey Mouse Mashup" and "Let It Go."
"Circle of Life" and "Feelin' Good" were selections sang by High Point second and third graders.
The fourth graders performed "World of Thanks" and "Brave."
Fifth and sixth graders sang "Counting the Stars" and "Good Game."
To round out the evening, the seventh and eighth grade students performed "God's Not Dead" and "Count on Me."
In conclusion, the entire student body sang "Happy."
Administrator Stan Elliott shared his appreciation for all the High Point R-III students and staff. He thanked all in attendance for their support of the students and school.
The students, staff, family and friends in attendance adjourned to the cafeteria for a reception honoring Anita McDonald who retired at the end of the year.
