Jamestown 16, Bunceton 6:

JAMESTOWN - A total of 12 runs in the first two innings helped Jamestown easily beat Bunceton 16-6 last Tuesday.

Jamestown used a 13-hit attack to score four runs in the first inning, eight in the second and two in the third to take a 14-2 advantage. After Bunceton scored four in the fifth inning to cut the Eagles' lead to 14-6, the Eagles scored a run in the fifth and sixth to end the game due to a run-rule.

Seven Jamestown batters recorded a hit, including three with multiple hits.

Cole Theissen led the offense going 4-for-4 from the plate with three RBI, three runs scored, two singles, a double and a home run. Austin Flippin led the team with five RBI, going 3-for-4 with a triple shy of hitting the cycle. Christian DeVore was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Wyatt Hunziker, Dakota Matthews, Austin Maslen and Nick Perez all recorded a hit in the game.

Jamestown 1, Russellville 0:

RUSSELLVILLE - Christian DeVore and Austin Flippin combied for seven innings of five-hit ball on the mound, pitching Jamestown past the Indians 1-0 on Thursday.

DeVore pitched four innings, giving up four hits while striking out three, and Flippin pitched three while striking out six and allowing just one hit. Flippin got the win in relief.

For Russellville, Seth Kuda pitched the complete game in the loss, as he only allowed two hits and the one run. He also struck out seven Jamestown batters.

Both teams were scoreless until the seventh inning, when Garrett Wolfe led off the inning with a double. Austin Maslen followed Wolfe's at-bat with a double to center to score the lone run.
