EUGENE - The Lady Indians dropped a game to the Lady Eagles in straight sets (26-24, 25-13) last Monday.
Russellville's Olivia Windsor recorded three blocks and Kristen Hallford led the team with two kills and two aces. Savannah Laird also recorded two aces and a kill.
Russellville 2, Linn 1:
LINN -- Russellville won a three-set match against Linn on Monday, fighting back after suffering a set one loss, 22-25, 25-19, 26-24.
Savannah Laird, Olivia Windsor and Hailey Matthews led the team with four kills each. Windsor also had three blocks and Dampf recorded five assists.
The Lady Indians will travel to Calvary Lutheran Thursday before starting their district tournament against North Callaway next week.
California places second in Versailles tournament
VERSAILLES - The varsity volleyball team got second place in the Versailles volleyball tournament on Saturday.
In the Lady Pintos pool they beat Marshall and Warsaw then split with Stover. California earned first place in it pool, and based on the wins and point differential, were seated second overall out of 12 teams.
In the first round of bracket play, the Lady Pintos defeated Green Ridge, and then went on to defeat Versailles in the second round. We then faced Blair Oaks in the championship game and fell to them to receive second place.
