75 years ago - Oct. 17. 1940

At the regular noon lunching of the Lions Club at the Methodist church Monday noon the resignation of Fowler Young was accepted and Marvin Crawford, vice president was promoted to the presidency. In a brief talk Mr. Young stressed the fact that an organization in order to exist must continually be active and urged the continued sponsoring of worthwhile programs.

50 years ago - Oct. 21, 1965

The fifty-year members of the California Methodist Church were honored Sunday during the afternoon service commemorating the 125th anniversary of the church. They are were Mrs. Henry Gattermeir, Mrs J.P. Roedel, Roy Handley, Charles Collett, Mrs. Ula Elliott Crum, Neil Newtown, Grace McKnight Dwyer and Frank McKnight.
