Lady Indians junior high basketball gets two wins

PILOT GROVE - The Lady Indians improved their record to 10-1 after a 35-14 win against Pilot Grove last Tuesday.

Skylar Potts scored 19 points to lead the offense and Natalie Kirchner and Macie Edwards scored six points each. Allison Schrimpf and Hannah Malzner added two points a piece.

Russellville held the Lady Tigers to just four points in the first half to race out to an 18-4 halftime lead, then the Lady Indians outscored Pilot Grove 12-10 in the second half to secure the win.

Against Fatima on Tuesday, the Lady Indians squeaked out a 38-35 win against the Lady Comets to add their 11th win of the season. Schrimpf and Potts led the team with 13 points each, Kirchner added eight and Edwards had four.

Russellville led 13-8 after the first quarter and 21-15 at the half, but Fatima came back to cut the Lady Indians' lead to 27-26 after the three quarters. Russellville outscored Fatima 11-9 in the final quarter to get the three-point win.
