The Guy Rush Memorial Poker Run was held for the fifth year Saturday, Sept. 12. The event began at the Lucky Dog Pub and Grub, Jamestown. Registration began at noon and the poker run began at 1 p.m. The event was well attended, with t-shirts, sticker and drink cozy's sold.

The event is in memory of motorcycle enthusiast, and California R-I School District employee Guy Rush who died in 2009 at the age of 53. Proceeds from the event this year are designated to be used for a memorial at the high school. Plans are for the memorial to include one or more benches and possibly bricks with names of students and employees of the school district who died while in school or employees of the school since it was completed in 1992.

The event was coordinated by Mary Rush, widow of Guy, and their sons Daniel and Derek.
