Moniteau County Retired Teachers Association hosts "Chocolate Chat with Georgia'

The Moniteau County Retired Teachers Association met Sept. 15 at the home of David and Beth Jungmeyer in California for a "Chocolate Chat with Georgia."

Georgia White, Region 7 vice president of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, spoke to the 13 members and guests present. She reported on the recent legislative session and legislation affecting retired school personnel and encouraged members to respond the email alerts concerning bills that need immediate attention.

President David Jungmeyer presided over the business meeting. Treasurer Susan Borts reported a thank-you note was received from the Central Missouri Food Bank for the nearly $275 donated to the Buddy Pack program.

Beth Jungmeyer reported she attended the state workshop for membership chairmen.

A bylaw change will be voted on at the next meeting. The proposed change is to switch election of officers from January to November.

The meeting schedule planned by the executive committee in July was shared. Meetings are every other month with ones scheduled for November, January, March and May and a planning meeting in July. David Jungmeyer will be the delegate to the annual MRTA meeting in Jefferson City Sept. 16 and 17.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Bobbio's in Tipton with Rep. David Wood as the guest speaker.

The meeting ended with a buffet of chocolate treats provided by members and a tour of the Jungmeyer home.
