The California Middle School gym was filled with young people from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, with the music and dancing of the sixth through eighth graders. The event was a middle school Valentine Dance sponsored by the African Library Project. The project is directed by Librarian Jill Meisenheimer.

Dance music popular with the age group present was played by DJ Bob Dodds. A concession area in the hallway was kept busy with those students hungry for snack and drink items. Tables and chairs off the dance floor offered space for those wanting to take a break from the dance floor.
