Panthers and Lady Panthers defeat Russellville

Friday, Jan. 22, the Prairie Home Lady Panthers defeated the Russellville Russellville Lady Indians 78-20. The Lady Panthers only have six players. According to Coach Dalton Armontrout they were not trying to bust the clock, they just do not have a second string to put into the game.

Prairie Home was led in scoring by Shianne Rhorer with 28, while Rachel Distler contributed 19 and Josie Flood 14 points. Rhorer and Flood each had 9 rebounds for the Lady Panthers.

Coach Armontrout said, "This was probably one of our better performances of the year. Everyone contributed. I am really proud of the girls and how they responded from a couple of losses last week. We played well together. It was just a great over team win."

The Panthers were also very successful winning 88-74 over the Indians. Coach Armontrout shared, "This was a great team win for us. A big win for us, but we have to improve our defense. We gave up too many points on the defensive end. We did do a good job shutting down their better player. We took away the 3 ball tonight, but we gave up a lot of inside buckets and a lot of second chance points."

The Panthers were led in scoring by Ross Kendrick and Creed Flood each with 34 points and 11 rebounds. Ben Stock contributed 11 points and 6 rebounds while Wyatt Borghardt had 9 points and two rebounds.

The Prairie Home Panthers and Lady Panthers will be participating in the Keyesville Tournament this week.
