County office filing ends March 29

Filing for the Aug. 2 primary election for Moniteau County offices ends March 29.

Those filed as of March 21, according to Moniteau County Clerk Roberta Elliott, include four Republicans for Commissioner District 1: Johnnie Elliott, Jeff Wingate, Steve Pate and Chris Baker.

For Commissioner District 2 are Democrat Kim Roll and Republicans Greg Robinson and Mac Finley.

Three Republicans have filed for assessor: Meleigha Caudel, Amanda Trimble and Tara Renfro.

For coroner, three Republicans have filed: Marty Ramsdell, John Lucas and David Shaul.

Those filing for Republican Committeeman include Darryl King-Walker, Rick Percival-Harrison, Mac Finley-Moreau, Cher Caudel-Walker and LaTonya Percival-Harrison.

Those filing for Democratic Committeeman include Resa Dudley-Walker and Gail Hughes-Walker.

State candidate filings

Tuesday at 5 p.m. also is the deadline for candidates to file for state, legislative and judicial offices.

Winners of the Aug. 2 party primaries will face the winners of other parties' primaries for the same office - and still could face a write-in challenger in the Nov. 8 general election.

So far, the candidates include (in the order they appear on the ballot - incumbents indicated by * ): U.S. Senate: Democrat - Chief Wana Dubie, Cori Bush and Jason Kander; Republican - *Roy Blunt, Kristi Nichols and Bernie Mowinski; Libertarian - Jonathan Dine; and Constitution - Fred Ryman.

Governor: Democrat - Leonard Steinman, Chris Koster and Eric Morrison; Republican - Catherine Hanaway, Eric Greitens, John Brunner and Peter Kinder; and Libertarian - Cisse Spragins.

Lieutenant Governor: Democrat - Winston Apple, Russ Carnahan and Tommie Pierson Sr.; and Republican - Arnie C. "AC" Dienoff, Bev Randles and Mike Parson.

Secretary of State: Democrat - Bill Clinton Young, Robin Smith and Elad Gross; Republican - Will Kraus and John "Jay" Ashcroft;

and Libertarian - Chris Morrill.

State Treasurer: Democrat - Pat Contreras and Judy Baker; Republican - Eric Schmitt and Dan Brown; and Libertarian - Sean O'Toole.

Attorney General: Democrat - Jake Zimmerman and Teresa Hensley; and Republican - Josh Hawley and Kurt Schaefer.

3rd Congressional District (includes Cole, Miller and part of Camden counties): Democrat - Kevin Miller; Republican - *Blaine Luetkemeyer; Libertarian - Dan Hogan; and Constitution - Doanita Simmons.

4th Congressional District (includes Moniteau, Morgan, most of Camden and Cooper counties): Democrat - Gordon Christensen; Republican - John E. Webb and *Vicky Hartzler; and Libertarian - Mark Bliss.

No State Senate races in our area.

State House-District 50: Republican - Caleb Jones. State House-District 58: Republican - David Wood, Alex Stafford and Mike Staton.

State House-District 59 (includes parts of Cole and Miller counties): Republican - *Mike Bernskoetter and Randy Dinwiddie.

State House-District 123 (includes parts of Camden and Laclede counties): Republican - *Diane Franklin.
