Patricia Kay Interiors is changing its business emphasis. According to owner Patty Kay, the emphasis of the business will return to her interior design services. The gift shop is closed as of the end of April.

The business, when it reopens at the same location, 401 North High St., California, will feature the owner’s interior design talents, offering her specialties of designing custom draperies, shades or blinds, and other items such as accent pillows, rod hardware and area rugs. Among other services offered by the business are special orders for special projects. She plans to carry samples to match most decors.

Kay, who earned a bachelor’s from University of Missouri-Columbia, in home economics, with a major in interior design. With that background and many years of experience, she offers clients design expertise including paint and color selection, furniture arrangement, window treatment design and planning for remodeling projects.

When the new phase of the business opens, the business hours will be announced. Other hours will be available by appointment.
