The California Chamber of Commerce and the staff from Brockes Tire & Auto gathered on Friday morning for a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Chamber also presented the business with its first dollar.
"It's a once in a lifetime experience," said owner Adam Brockes. "Not everybody gets to experience this, so I feel blessed."
Located at 801 E. Buchanan St. in California, Brockes Tire & Auto is a family owned and operated business. Brockes has seven full-time employees, all of them local hires. Brockes officially opened for business in January of this year. Prior to that, owner Adam Brockes had a shop in Jefferson City called Brockes Automotive.
"We're just happy to be part of the community," said Brandy Brockes.
Along with vehicle maintenance and repair, Brockes Tire & Auto does tires, alignments, fluid flushes and state inspections. The shop also specializes in diesel diagnostics and repair.
