Youth from the Little Pintos Preschool and Playhouse toured the California Police Department Friday, July 8.

The youngsters were shown through the facility, checking out the desks of the officers, shown the booking area. They looked through the interview room window and the evidence room window. They were taken briefly into the garage. Capt. Dale Embry and Sgt. Scott Harkins spoke to the young people about the department and what it does to serve the residents of the city.

A highlight of the tour was the upstairs room where Municipal court proceedings are held. The children ran around and tried out the chairs and looked out the window,

They were given packets which include badges and coloring books, stickers, a book about the police and other books.

After the tour, the young people looked in one of the police vehicles, turned on the siren and lights and tried on a protective vest to see the weight.
