Primary election determines next Moniteau County Coroner

Marty Ramsdell

Candidate Marty Ramsdell, 47, has been married for 24 years to Dr. Amy C. Huhmann Ramsdell, formerly from Tipton. They have three sons, Alec, Chase and Parker. Alec is a senior at Missouri State University majoring in accounting. Chase is in college in Columbia, and Parker is a sophomore in high school. "I graduated from California High School and have lived in Moniteau County my entire life," Ramsdell said.

"I have had many unique experiences that I feel will help make me a good Coroner, everything from being a Level 4 EMT for Mid-Mo Ambulance to my 28 years with the California City Fire Department. I currently serve on the Moniteau County 911 Board. I think the most important experience I have to be Moniteau County's Coroner is that I have held the position in the past and have earned my Level 4 EMT status. In order to earn my Level 4 EMT status I had to complete over 30 credit hours in Death Scene Investigation."

"I believe that being in elected office is the greatest act of public service you can do for your community. I am running for Moniteau County Coroner because I have always been interested in making sure that death scenes are handled properly and that loved ones are handled with the utmost respect during that difficult time."

"The major issue of importance which can be addressed by this office - " I think the most important issue that the Moniteau County Coroner deals with is ensuring that when anything suspicious during a death is noticed, that it is fully investigated until there are no doubts as the cause of death."

"If elected to the position of Moniteau County Corner, I will do my best to ensure death scenes are handled with the utmost professionalism and will not rest until satisfied with the cause of death. Because of my affiliations with Mid-Mo Ambulance and the California City Fire Department, there is a good chance that I will already be on hand at several death scenes. I would appreciate the chance to have the opportunity to use my experience and expertise to serve Moniteau County as our Coroner."

I belong to the California Masonic Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, and the National Rifle Association."

"I am highly experienced, well trained, and educated to carry out the administrative and investigative duties of coroner in a professional and compassionate manner. My experiences in civilian law enforcement, and abroad with the Army during both combat and stability operations have given me exposure to many unique situations that have enabled me to develop the broad perspective necessary to deal with problems or events that may occur in the future. I believe I am best qualified and seek the position as your Coroner to continue to serve my fellow citizens and neighbors and to continue my support our county, state, and nation."

Thank-you in advance for your support on Aug. 2.
